Day Three

Even though we’re home and you’ve probably already heard the stories from your child in person, the students have been asking for pictures from day three, so here they are!  There are also a few extra pics from  the ball game that didn’t make it into the last posting.

Our final day started with the Wendella boat tour, which took us through the locks, out onto Lake Michigan, and then up the river through the city.  It was a great way to get a view of the Chicago skyline, as well as to see all the buildings from a unique perspective.   At one point on the tour we encountered a water canon shooting a rainbow of water over the river, and our boat captain decided to have a little “fun” and nosed into it just far enough to soak the students at the front of the boat.  The kids loved it, but the chaperones/bus driver weren’t quite so thrilled!  Luggage was pulled out from under the bus, dry clothes were put on, and all was well once again.  Lunch at the Rainforest Cafe was very cool, and then came the long bus ride home filled with movies, singing, and DS games.  All in all, this trip was a fabulous experience!  The students were so well-behaved throughout the trip, it was truly a pleasure to chaperone them.  Many of the students asked if they could stay a few days more!  Parents, thank you for entrusting your children to us as we help them take those steps which lead to greater independence and maturity.
